Matthew Eide

Matthew leads the Northwest Comprehensive Center’s efforts to improve educational outcomes for American Indian and Alaska Native students, coordinates a network of rural schools, helps schools engage in focused school improvement efforts, and works with teams to provide technical assistance to state education agencies in the region. Since earning his M.Ed. from UCLA, Matthew has played a variety of roles in education, from teaching history in a large urban high school in Los Angeles to leading a small alternative school for youth experiencing homelessness in Portland.

Education Northwest provides opportunities to work with all levels of our education system to make it more effective, equitable, and coherent for our students.
