How can we improve school policies, discipline practices, and parent and community engagement to create safe learning environments for all students? School district and building leaders, counselors, equity coordinators, and other education professionals responsible for school safety and civil rights are invited to explore this important issue during a free, one-day conference.

Outcomes

  • Learn the federal and local legal requirements schools must meet to address harassment, bullying, and hate crimes
  • Learn how harassment, bullying, and hate crimes affect students and the school community
  • Reflect on school policies and practices written to protect students
  • Receive resources and tools for responding to and preventing incidents that create unsafe schools

The event, sponsored by the Region X Equity Assistance Center at Education Northwest and the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights for Region X, features presenters committed to ensuring and promoting educational achievement and excellence for all students.
