Welcome to the new Education Northwest Web site. The new site continues the shift that started in September, when the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory became Education Northwest. The design is inspired by the new look that came along with our new name and logo.
The transformation in design goes along with other changes. The new site is powered by Drupal, a content management system that enables developers to manage pages dynamically—uploading new content and publishing pages is now much simpler. This will help us to update the site more frequently and track new developments in key educational issues. Services like the Northwest Education Recovery Clearinghouse—which provides the latest resources related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act—will be more timely and useful.
The new system also features a cleaner and more intuitive structure for navigating the site. We’ve identified categories that represent the breadth of our work—ranging from training teachers, to developing curriculum, to restructuring schools, to evaluating programs. The Services section provides information about the professional development, technical assistance, evaluation, and research services that Education Northwest offers. In the Events section you will find information and registration links for our upcoming workshops and meetings. Products are books and other materials that can be ordered on our site, which are organized by topic. The comprehensive, research-based tools and information in the Resources section are available free of charge. Projects features Education Northwest’s programs that encompass specific services, resources, and products. Finally, the News section highlights information about our latest products and services as well as upcoming events.
Education Northwest’s new site makes it easier to find additional information on specific topics. When viewing information about a service or product, the sidebar on the left side of the screen will highlight Related Information links that will take readers to additional work that is relevant to a specific topic. In the sidebar on the right side of the screen you will find short descriptions of featured services, products, or resources.
Thanks for visiting educationnorthwest.org. We hope you will come back frequently for updates on the emerging needs and trends in teaching and learning.
