How can Oregon’s education leaders best use evidence to serve their students? Governor John A. Kitzhaber, M.D. will address this timely topic at the Oregon Leadership Network (OLN) Fall Institute on December 3, 2013 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. In addition to Governor Kitzhaber, OLN members will hear from Rob Saxton, Deputy Superintendent of the Oregon Department of Education, as well as a panel of expert educators on the theme of the event, “Building Evidence-Based Equity Leadership,” hosted by event cosponsor Beaverton School District.

Organized by Education Northwest, the twice-yearly OLN institutes provide an opportunity for teams of Oregon educators to engage in powerful professional development and networking. The December event will feature 300 OLN members from 16 Oregon school districts, state education agencies, education service districts, higher education institutions, and professional education associations. These organizations are committed to equity and to achieving success for every Oregon student.

Now in its 14th year, the OLN “continues to advance progress for Oregon students by efficiently leveraging resources, facilitating cross-organizational learning, and collectively strengthening our leadership for equity work,” says OLN Director Rob Larson.
