Portland, Oregon — Knowledge Alliance, a DC-based non-profit and non-partisan organization that advocates for the greater use of research-based knowledge in education policy and practice, announced this morning on Twitter the appointment of Education Northwest CEO Steve Fleischman as incoming board chair.

“Steve is a great colleague and thoughtful leader,” said Knowledge Alliance President Michele McLaughlin. “He is well respected by his peers and will be a great partner as we move forward with Knowledge Alliance's policy agenda.”
Fleischman will serve a two-year term, taking over the position from Wes Hoover, president and CEO of the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL).
