Compendium of REL Studies

REL LogoResearch reports from across the nation on topics of significance to our region completed during 2006–2011.

Educators and policymakers in the Northwest face a number of daunting challenges—from improving chronically low-performing schools to helping ELL students develop English language skills to preparing all students for college and 21st century careers.

To help regional stakeholders make informed decisions about these and other educational issues, REL Northwest has undertaken rigorous research studies that draw on data from our schools and communities. We have organized these studies—together with research from the nation’s other nine regional educational laboratories (RELs)—into a compendium and provided links to them within 16 topic areas (below).

All of the studies, which are funded by the Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES), follow strict standards for scientifically valid research. The compendium will be updated regularly, as additional studies are vetted and published by IES.
