Supplemental Educational Services and Implementation Challenges in the Northwest Region States

This report describes usage patterns in Northwest states and the challenges that may account for the low participation rates in SES programs.

Title I schools that fail to make adequate yearly progress are required to offer their students supplemental educational services (SES) such as math or reading tutoring. However, participation in SES programs in the Northwest is about one-third the national rate. This report describes usage patterns in Northwest states and the challenges that may account for the low rates.
