This one-day workshop prepares classroom teachers and scoring teams to analyze and score student papers using either our rubric or yours. You will learn how to use text only as well as illustrated rubrics (scoring guides) with practice papers to identify key criteria of emerging, capable, and strong writing across six writing traits (ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions). You will also learn how to calibrate a team of raters to ensure consistency and accuracy in the assessment process. This workshop can be delivered to specific grade level groups, such as K-2, 3-6, 7-12. Teachers can bring a small set of their student papers for extra practice. We now deliver this training via live online sessions, as well as the traditional we-come-to-you model.
