Education Northwest offers professional development that helps teachers incorporate research-based instructional strategies for English language learners (ELL) into mathematics instruction. Through workshops and follow-up sessions participants increase their ability to apply research-based strategies that promote the success of ELL students in the mathematics classroom. The content of these sessions highlights the congruence between research on effective mathematics instruction and research on best practices for ELL students.
This service can be customized for teachers, paraprofessionals, and principals who deliver mathematics content to ELL students.
This professional development experience is delivered through a series of workshops delivered over the course of the school year.
