REL Northwest conducted a special forum on the latest findings about early literacy by the National Center for Research on Early Childhood Education (NCRECE), focused on how to support language and literacy development in preschool classrooms through emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support.

This study reports on the developmental functioning levels of children from birth through age 2 in early intervention services and children ages 3–5 in early childhood special education services at the time of entry into services, using data from the Oregon Early Childhood Assessment System.


This workshop introduces teachers of the youngest students to Education Northwest’s 6+1 Trait Writing Model of Instruction & Assessment using classic literature children know and love.
