Congratulations to Tacoma Public Schools Superintendent and Education Northwest Board Member Carla Santorno who received a 2016 Women in School Leadership Award at the American Association of School Administrators national conference in Phoenix in February.

“This is a commendation for the whole community,” Santorno said in an article that appeared in the The News Tribune on February 12. “The recognition is about the work we have undertaken, and we still have a ways to go. We still have kids that aren’t making it, who aren’t achieving at a high level.”

On behalf of Education Northwest, we thank Superintendent Santorno for her service and congratulate her on this honor.

You can hear more from Carla Santorno in a video posted by Tacoma Public Schools.
