This forum follows the 2010 MASS Spring Conference, March 22-23, 2010, at Helena's Great Northern Hotel.
Dr. Sam Redding, co-author of the Institute of Education Sciences' practice guide, Turning Around Chronically Low-Performing Schools, will present and facilitate discussions related to the four major recommendations for school turnaround:
A panel discussion will highlight the successes and challenges faced by Montana principals who led successful improvement efforts at their schools. Additionally, small-group discussions will offer participants the opportunity to get individualized assistance on issues facing their schools.
This one-day forum takes place on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., following the 2010 MASS Spring Conference (March 22–23).
There is no charge to attend and lunch will be provided to those who register by March 17, 2010.

This forum is designed especially for leaders of Montana's elementary and secondary schools facing improvement status. However, all principals interested in school improvement are welcome.
Principals are encouraged to bring their superintendent or other district and school leaders. School coaches, school improvement facilitators, and state-level staff members responsible for school and district improvement are also welcome.
Dr. Sam Redding is the director of the national Center on Innovation and Improvement in Lincoln, Illinois. He is also the executive director of the Academic Development Institute and previously served as vice president and dean of Lincoln College.
