CCSSO Webinar on Findings From Content Analysis of the Common Core State Standards [PPT]
In summer 2010, the Council of Chief State School Officers convened 35 specialists in math and English language arts to conduct a content analysis of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) using the content frameworks and methodology of the Surveys of Enacted Curriculum (SEC). All grade levels (K–12) of the CCSS were included in the analysis process and the results are now posted and available for review.
The SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium
The SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a collection of 31 states that have been working collaboratively since December 2009 to develop a student assessment system aligned to a common core of academic content standards to apply for a Race to the Top (RttT) Assessment grant. On the September 2, 2010, the SBAC was awarded a four-year, $160 million RttT grant by the U.S. Department of Education to develop a student assessment system aligned to the CCSS.
