Education Northwest is governed by a board of directors who share a commitment to improving education in the communities we serve. Collectively, the board has extensive leadership experience across school districts, institutions of higher education, state education agencies, and nonprofit organizations within the field of education.

Debra Clemens

With over 20 years of experience in educational leadership and administration, Deb is passionate about creating a positive and lasting impact for students, staff members, and communities. Most recently, she served as the Superintendent of North Thurston Public Schools, leading a dedicated team of over 2,000 employees and serving 15,000 students across 24 schools.
In her superintendent role, Deb developed and implemented the district's strategic plan, budget, and policies while fostering collaborative partnerships to ensure equity and excellence for all learners. Her mission has always been to empower every student to reach their full potential and contribute to the common good.
Retired as of June 2024, Deb continues to value innovation, diversity, collaboration, and integrity and applies these principles through volunteer service. She continues to serve others by supporting education and community initiatives, sharing her experience, and making a difference in the lives of others.
