Multiple Strategies for Postsecondary and Career Readiness: What Are the Pieces and How Do They Fit Together?
This panel will present research-based and field-tested information and guidance on a well implemented early warning system for schools to identify students at risk of dropping out and how to monitor interventions to keep them on track for graduation and postsecondary readiness. The presenters will also discuss ways to increase high school student access to rigorous coursework; longitudinal statewide data from K–12 and postsecondary systems to evaluate postsecondary readiness, college enrollment, persistence, and completion; and preliminary findings from a 10–state qualitative study of postsecondary transfer and articulation policies. The session will end with a discussion of how complementary college preparation strategies interconnect.
