What Is Career and Technical Education, and Why Does It Matter?

By Erin Flynn | February 19, 2021

With many industries facing a shortage of skilled labor, employees who can hit the ground running are in high demand. Career and technical education (CTE) has been hailed as one solution: It prepares students with the on-the-ground competencies they need to succeed in today’s labor market. Education Northwest’s Erin Flynn explains how CTE is changing the education landscape, why it complements traditional academic courses, and what the future of CTE may hold.

We offer literacy expertise across the spectrum, from early literacy to postsecondary and from English learners to special education students and children with dyslexia.
