Kimberly Barnes

Kimberly directs the Region 17 Comprehensive Center and works on technical assistance projects related to literacy, school improvement, instructional leadership and teacher effectiveness initiatives in Idaho and beyond. Her prior experience includes working as the associate director of the Center for School Improvement and Policy Studies (through Boise State University), turnaround leadership/school improvement coordinator (through the Idaho State Department of Education) and as a consultant working extensively in both rural and urban school communities nationwide. She’s worked with superintendents, principals, teachers, state education agencies and businesses to meet the needs of all learners. Kimberly received a M.Ed. in educational leadership from Boise State University, Administrative and Danielson Teachscape Focus Observation/Evaluation Licenses from the Idaho State Department of Education, and B.A. in education from Western Washington University.
