Education Northwest, a Portland-based not-for-profit organization, proudly announces the addition of Jeff Strickler as chief operating officer. Strickler will oversee the expansion of services and operations at Education Northwest, which is committed to helping schools and communities address their daily challenges and opportunities through research and technical assistance.
“Jeff is a seasoned and trusted business and education leader,” said Education Northwest acting CEO Patty Wood. “He is passionate about our region and about promoting education opportunities for all students. The organization is fortunate to bring on board a leader with Jeff’s experience and skillset as we look to become even more strategic and innovative.”
“I am energized by this opportunity,” said Strickler. “Education Northwest is successful because of its people. They are a talented group of professionals—highly qualified and clearly dedicated to the mission. I look forward to working with them and amplifying their work while creating an environment of creativity and growth.”
Prior to joining Education Northwest, Strickler served as president and chief operating officer at NWEA, an educational assessment and professional development not-for-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. During his 11-year tenure, Strickler managed the organization through significant growth—helping to expand its service to more than 11 million students and building a sustainable financial outlook for the organization. Previously, Strickler served in executive capacities at several growth-oriented companies in the Portland area.
“We are thrilled that someone with so much experience and knowledge of our mission will serve as chief operating officer,” said Mark Yee, Education Northwest Board Chair. “We are certain his impact and influence will help us fulfill our vision for this organization.”
