When Steve Klein was a kid, he wanted to be a doctor. But after four years of college pre-med, he realized it wasn’t for him. Now he works on developing college and career pathways for youth, helping students get the experiences they need to make career choices that stick. The field has swung from a focus on “college for all” in the 80s to a greater emphasis on vocational training in the 00s. So what works best?

Regional Educational Laboratory Northwest is one of 10 regional educational laboratories across the nation dedicated to improving the use of research and data in policy and classroom practice. REL Northwest is funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences.

Region 17 Comprehensive Center

The Region 17 CC at Education Northwest is part of a national network of 19 CCs funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The network’s goal is to provide high-impact training and technical services to education leaders across the country.
