Centering Equity and Student Voice in Education Data

We collaborated with the Ford Family Foundation to study college outcomes for the 42 percent of Oregon’s high school students who attend a rural school. These students have lower rates of college enrollment, persistence, and completion than their nonrural peers.

Maegan Rides at The Door is the director of the National Native Children’s Trauma Center in Missoula, Montana. She sat down with Mandy Smoker Broaddus, Indian Education practice expert at Education Northwest, for a conversation about making trauma-informed work culturally responsive to the needs of American Indian or Alaska Native children and communities.

The Region 17 CC at Education Northwest is part of a national network of 19 CCs funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The network’s goal is to provide high-impact training and technical services to education leaders across the country.
